Q. Do you see the evacuations in Gaza and the nuclear arms build-up of the surrounding nations as a precursor to a peace agreement by the False Political leader spoken about in Daniel?
A. In the Scriptures, events happened to Israel as examples for those who would come along later to learn from. This applies to individuals and nations. The 8th century prophets teach about the first half of the Tribulation period, the 7th century prophets teach about the last half. When the catching away of Believers happens, the Europeans will hand authority over to the False Messiah. They won’t know he is, but that’s the point. The United States, I believe, will be attacked by Russia and destroyed, leaving a huge power vacuum. Europe, afraid she is next, sends envoys together to come up with a plan. The coming False Messiah will be in that meeting. These envoys will believe that the False Messiah has a plan, and they hand over authority to him. He signs a security agreement with Israel saying they will protect Israel in place of the now devastated United States. Israel will have problems of her own.
The Assyrian invasion of Israel is a picture of the coming Russian invasion. The direction, the motives behind it, the nations involved are all in the Scriptures. Israel, at that time, was divided into 2-states. What is going on in Israel today is setting the stage for the Tribulation period. Israel will be divided into 2-states, probably religious and secular. Terrorism will begin to slack off in Israel, especially in the early part of the 7 year Tribulation. Israel will be lulled to sleep by the so-called “peace” when there will be an invasion, headed by Russia, beginning Rosh Ha Shannah of the 4th year. Russia will be destroyed by that Yom Kippur, with a grateful nation finally turning to Yeshua as Messiah. Everything you are seeing right now is a catalyst for the final prophetic scenario to unfold. There will be more about this in the coming weeks.
Q In Luke 17, who are the ones “taken” and the ones “left behind?” Also, what does it mean in v 37 about the “vulture” and the “body?”
A. The context of the passage is talking about seeking to save your life, or losing it (judgment). Yeshua said to remember Lots wife. Now, we are to be like salt. But a pillar of salt is useless. It needs to be “broken down” and distributed for it to function. Lots wife held on to the old nature and it killed her. Her pillar is like a memorial forever. Then it goes on to talk abot one person taken, another left. This refers to the judgment when Yeshua returns. The unbeliever will be gathered to Jerusalem first (Mt 13.30) and killed (Mt 25, Isa 66). Then the believer will be gathered to Jerusalem for the Kingdom.
These groups have somehow survived the Tribulation. Now, the vultures will gather around the dead bodies of those slain in unbelief at the time of Yeshua return on Yom Kippur. There will be five days of judgment between Yom Kippur and the start of the feast of Sukkot, and this is when this judgment will happen. Yeshua is giving a clue as to where they were being taken by describing what happens to them.
This “dinner” is described in many places. Sukkot teaches the Kingdom, and 2 dinner s are being given. The first is for the Bride called the Wedding Supper (Rev 19). The other is called the Feast of Leviathan (a term for the False Messiah). You see it described in Eze 29, Eze 32, Rev 19 and other places. This “dinner’ consists of the bodies of the slain unbeliever brought to Jerusalem for judgment, and the invited guests are the birds of the air (Rev 19). This is what Yeshua was referring to in Luke 17.37
